Wired Wednesday, ACCtv and the Digital Arts Factory invites you to join us as part of our “48 Hour Film Project” crew. We are developing a set of folks who can produce a film in 48 hours within the guidelines of the above mentioned festival. Join us at 7pm on the second Wednesday of each month to learn more about the project and what we are doing to prepare our crew.

However, our contest is over for this summer, so please consider next summer.

We held a FREE showing of all submissions on Friday, August 19 at 7:30, before the 8pm “Carmen Miranda” film in the Performance Hall 511 W. King St, Carson City, NV. It was a small contest this year but we wish to thank all our participants. The following awards were made:

First Prize of an ACCtv Studio Use class is
Bryce O’Connor with his stop motion comedy “A Day At Sea”

Second Prize of a one day workshop in 2D Claymation goes to
Peter Nygard for his Mockumentary “The God Particle”

Third prize, an Editing Class on Final Cut Pro went to
Alex Urban for her live action comedy “The Man Who Ate Chicken and Didn’t Like It”

Next contest will be held summer of 2012. Please start your films now! We look forward to turning our little contest and Film Series into a Film Festival in a year or so, help us to get there!

Short Video Contest Guidelines

The video may be of any genre, done in any style see list on application. Minimum length 30 seconds, maximum length 10 minutes. There is no theme to fit within, but judging will be on how well an idea, THE idea behind the film is conveyed.

Please submit your video on DVD along with the application form. DVD must be labeled with title, length, contact name, phone number and email.

A title at the start is preferred and cast/crew at end, although NOT required.

Depending on the number of submissions we may break videos into categories. Winners will be determined two ways.

One is the “Audience Favorite”
The Audience Favorite will win FREE tuition to a class at the BAC. The audience votes will be collected and tabulated as soon as the last submission has been played. Winners will be announced shortly after the vote.

Second way. The judges will determine which video best gets an idea across to the viewer.
The judges will determine a winner prior to the showing. The Audience Favorite will be at the Friday August 19 showing.

The BAC and ACCtv reserve the right to refuse submission/broadcast if content is outside the realm of public access rules. Please refer to rules on www.acctv.org. Basically this is no violence, nudity/sex or sales pitches, unless in “Mockumentary” form.

No compensation will be made for this video.
